Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of joyrank at https://joyrank.lol (the “Service”) — the public leaderboard, the category and listing pages, checkout, and everything served from this domain. By browsing the Service, submitting a listing, or completing a payment, you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund & Delivery Policy, and the public Rules. If you do not accept them, do not pay for a listing.

1. Who operates this service

The Service is operated by Zhilong Huang, based in Canada (“we”, “us”).

The Rules page describes how ranking works in plain language. Where the Rules and these Terms disagree, these Terms govern.

2. What you are buying — and what you are not

joyrank sells paid placement on a public leaderboard. Rank is determined by the amount paid and nothing else. Listings are advertising. They are not reviews, awards, certifications, endorsements, editorial picks, or any independent assessment of quality.

A payment buys one thing: the position your bid can hold at the moment the payment is confirmed.

It does not buy any of the following, and we never promise them:

• A number of clicks, visitors, signups, customers, or revenue.
• A fixed period at a given rank. Anyone may pay more and move above you at any time.
• Exclusivity in a category, or the removal of a competitor.
• Search-engine rankings. Every outbound link is marked rel="sponsored nofollow".
• Placement on Today’s board beyond the UTC day in which you paid.

We may change, pause, or retire features — categories, Today’s board, Trending, the Hall of Fame, notification emails, minimum bids — as the Service develops.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
• If you act for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and “you” in these Terms means that company.
• You may not use the Service if you, your company, or your beneficial owners are subject to trade sanctions or are otherwise barred from receiving the Service under any applicable law.

4. Price, payment, and tax

All prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. The current rules are: a new listing starts at $1; taking #1 costs at least $1 more than the standing top bid; raising an existing listing costs at least $1; the maximum single payment is $999,999. The exact figure for your bid is displayed on the checkout screen before you confirm.

Checkout is handled by Waffo Pancake, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. That means Waffo Pancake — not us — is your counterparty for the payment itself, and is responsible for collecting and remitting VAT, GST, sales tax, and any other transaction tax that applies where you are. Tax may be added at checkout and will be shown before you confirm. Waffo Pancake’s own terms and privacy notice apply to the payment. See www.waffo.ai.

We never see or store your card number. Card details are entered on Waffo Pancake’s hosted checkout. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and an order identifier.

Submitting checkout is an offer to buy placement on the terms displayed. The contract forms — and your rank is assigned — when the payment is confirmed and the listing is written to the board. An abandoned or failed checkout reserves nothing.

5. Delivery

Placement is a digital service delivered immediately and automatically. When we receive payment confirmation, your listing is created (or your bid is raised) within seconds and the amount is counted on the public board. There is nothing to ship and no waiting period. Full details are in the Refund & Delivery Policy.

6. Refunds

Payments are final and non-refundable, because delivery completes the moment payment clears. By confirming checkout you expressly ask us to begin the service immediately and acknowledge that, to the extent the law allows you to do so, you give up any cooling-off or withdrawal right that would otherwise apply to a distance-sold digital service. Where a consumer right cannot legally be waived, we honour it.

Being outbid later, receiving fewer clicks than you hoped, disliking your own category choice, a service outage, or a removal for breaking these Terms are not grounds for a refund. The grounds on which we do refund — duplicate charges, technical failures on our side — are listed in the Refund & Delivery Policy.

Raising a chargeback or payment dispute without a legally valid basis is a breach of these Terms. We may remove the listing without refund and decline to serve you in future.

7. What you may list

• A product or company website, or an X profile — and only one you own or are authorised to represent.
• The destination must identify who is behind it. A listed website has to carry current, accurate operator details — a legal or trading name and a working way to make contact, plus any imprint, registration, or tax information required where that site operates. Listings pointing at anonymous, fake, or unverifiable operators may be removed.
• Group-chat and invite links are not accepted (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal, LINE, KakaoTalk and similar). This board is for products and profiles.
• Link shorteners are not accepted. Submit the real destination.
• Query strings are stripped from submitted URLs, so affiliate, referral, and tracking parameters will not survive.

8. What you promise us

Each time you submit a URL, handle, or payment, you represent and warrant that:

• You own the destination or are authorised to advertise it and to send visitors there.
• The listing and the destination comply with every applicable law — advertising, consumer protection, privacy, intellectual property, export control, and any sector-specific rules.
• You are not impersonating a person, brand, or company, and you are not listing a competitor’s site or profile without their permission.
• The destination is not malware, phishing, a scam, or a site whose purpose is to mislead the people who arrive at it.
• Everything you submit is accurate, and you will tell us if it stops being accurate.
• The funds you pay with are lawfully yours and the payment method is one you are entitled to use.

9. Prohibited listings and conduct

Beyond the Rules, you may not list or use the Service for:

• Sexual or pornographic material, or adult-content platforms.
• Anything unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or violent, and anything that exploits or endangers minors.
• Counterfeit goods, pirated media, unauthorised streaming, or other infringement of copyright, trademark, or personality rights.
• Regulated offers you are not licensed to make — including gambling, unlicensed financial services, prescription medicines, weapons, and controlled substances.
• Multi-level marketing, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, guaranteed-return investment offers, and get-rich-quick programmes.
• Interfering with the Service: inflating click counts, evading rate limits, scraping beyond ordinary browsing, automated bidding without our written permission, or attempting to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.

10. Our right to remove a listing

We may refuse, delay, edit, recategorise, hide, or permanently remove any listing or page, with or without notice, where we believe these Terms, the Rules, or the law have been broken; where a rights holder or a platform complains; where the destination’s operator details are missing or cannot be verified; or where the listing creates a legal, security, payment-risk, or reputational problem. Removal for a breach does not entitle you to a refund.

11. Third-party names, logos, and images

To make the board readable we fetch and display public information about listed destinations: names, handles, page titles, descriptions, favicons, logos, and Open Graph images. We use that material only to identify the thing being advertised and to show visitors where a paid link leads. That is identification, not affiliation: displaying a name or logo does not mean the rights holder sponsors, endorses, or is connected to joyrank — unless the rights holder is the one who bought the listing.

The joyrank name, wordmark, and the design of the Service belong to us. You may not copy the Service, scrape the board to build a competing ranking, or use our brand in a way that implies we endorse you. Names such as Waffo Pancake, X, Vercel, and Resend belong to their respective owners.

12. The licence you grant us

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, cache, reproduce, resize, reformat, and publicly display your listing and the public metadata we fetch for it, for as long as we need it to operate, promote, and keep a historical record of the Service. You also grant visitors the right to view that listing here. Ask us to take a listing down at support@joyrank.lol — a takedown does not reverse a completed payment.

13. Complaints and rights notices

If you believe a listing infringes your copyright, trademark, or personality rights, or that a listed destination is unlawful, email support@joyrank.lol with:

1. your name and contact details;
2. the listing page on joyrank.lol;
3. the destination URL or handle;
4. what the problem is and, for a rights claim, what right you hold; and
5. a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or act for them.

We may hide the listing while we review. We may pass your notice to the person who bought it. Repeated or abusive notices may be ignored.

14. No endorsement, no guaranteed results

A position on the board is not our opinion of a product. We do not verify the claims, prices, capabilities, or results advertised by listed companies. Screenshots, quoted posts, click counts, and visitor numbers describe what people reported or what our systems recorded — they are not a prediction of your outcome. What you get depends on your bid, your destination, your timing, and factors outside our control.

Following a link takes you off joyrank.lol. Those sites have their own terms and their own practices, and we are not responsible for them. Outbound listing links are marked as sponsored. The Service may also contain our own affiliate links to tools we use.

15. Availability and changes

The Service is provided as-is and may be unavailable, slow, or wrong. We may change ranking rules, minimum bids, categories, or these Terms. Material changes are reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them. A payment already completed stays governed by the Terms in force at the time of that payment, except where a change is required by law or needed to deal with a security or legal risk.

16. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that ranks, click counts, names, or images shown on it are accurate or complete.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Subject to that:

• We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss.
• Our total liability for any claim connected to a payment is capped at the amount you paid us for the listing that the claim concerns in the three months before the claim arose.

18. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your listing, your destination, your payment or chargeback, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of anyone’s rights. We may take over the defence of such a claim, and you will cooperate with us if we do.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer protected by mandatory law where you live, that protection still applies to you. Otherwise, the courts of the Province of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction.

Before starting formal proceedings, email support@joyrank.lol. Most disputes about a listing are settled within a few days.

20. General

• If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the invalid part is replaced by the valid term closest to its original intent.
• Not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it.
• You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them together with the Service.
• These Terms, the Rules, the Privacy Policy, the Refund & Delivery Policy, and the checkout details you confirm form the whole agreement between us.
• Payment, hosting, database, email, and analytics involve third parties. Their outages and decisions are outside our control.
